I, TOO, SING AMERICA |
OCTOBER 20 |
The season begins with the return of I, Too, Sing America, a concert featuring music from across the United States that celebrates the contributions of composers of color to the choral music canon. This year’s program, which will showcase the music of Shavon Lloyd, most recent winner of WMC’s Florence Price Commission Competition and a rising star currently studying The Juilliard School of Music, will highlight the world premiere of Lloyd’s much-anticipated WMC commission. The program will also include works by Reena Esmail, Zanaida Robles, Adolphus Hailstork, and Marques L.A. Garrett, among others.
